Clinic Services
Under Ssanje Domiciliary Medical Center, we offer general medical care and laboratory services including; consultations, treatment for all forms of diseases, illnesses and conditions, and immunization. Besides, we offer outpatient and in-patient services. We avail laboratory and related diagnostic services.
Promotion of Child and Maternal Health
We provide child health related care including immunization, consultation and treatment of child disease, illnesses and condition. Being a Private Not for Profit Health Facility, we prioritize vulnerable unprivileged children and mothers while giving medical and related healthcare services. We offer general and specialized health services to children 15 years and below; we also do nutritional rehabilitation and management of severe acute malnutrition. We provide exceptional paediatric and child health care and maternal health services;-
1.Admitted and successfully discharged 58 children.
2.Treated and successfully managed 182 children with reparatory track infection including 39 pneumonia cases.
3.Admitted and discharged 614 patients.
4.Admitted and successfully managed 54 diarrhoea cases.
5.Treated and successfully managed 7 children with childhood malignancies.
6.Treated and successfully managed 13 Septicaemia cases.
7.Screened 16 children for childhood cancer
8.Screened 204 children for malaria and successfully treated 128 malaria cases under five.
9.We have successfully conducted weekly ANC sessions.
10.Conducted 58 immunization community outreaches during Child Days Plus.
11.Successfully conducted 38 by-monthly ANC community outreaches.
12.Held 216 both facility and community based child nutrition sessions.
13.Distributed 1,792 mama kits to expectant mothers.
14.Conducted 12 community engagement for promotion of facility based childbirth.
Skills Development and Knowledge Transfer
We provide skills training to different categories of people including farmers, youth and adolescents (both in and out of school), women and development groups (market attendants, boda boda associations, and women savings and loans groups and village savings and loans groups - VSLAs). These skills aim at increasing their productive potentials and make them self-sustaining in order to advance their socioeconomic and livelihood standards. From 2019, we have so far;-
1.Mobilized and successfully trained 2,104 youth and adolescent in income generating skills (basic entrepreneurial and business development and management, welding, baking, knitting and tailoring).
2.Mobilized and successfully trained 25 youth (8 female and 17 male) in photography and videography.
3.Mobilized and successfully trained 52 village savings and loans groups – VSLAs in small business development and management.
4.Mobilized and successfully trained 18 women savings groups in starting and running individual and group businesses.
5.We have given out a total 184 book and guide to different individuals (Welding Guides, Agro-processing Guides and fruit processing manuals).
Community Sensitization and Capacity Building
We often create community awareness on a wide range of issues that include; environment, disease outbreak and management, personal and domestic development concerns, and agriculture. So far we have;-
1.Mobilized and conducted 84 COVID-19 awareness meetings.
2.Mobilized 6 communities and they formed development groups – SACCOs.
3.Mobilized and conducted 12 sessions with mothers and caregivers in child feeding.
Health Education
Our team of professionals organize and conduct health education sessions in different communities and from 2019, at least;-
1.Mobilized and conducted 16 community engagements on child immunization.
2.Mobilized 4 community engagements on non-communicable diseases (cancer, diabetes, and pressure).
3.Mobilized and conducted 6 community engagements on malaria among children under five.
4.Mobilized and conducted 15 community sessions related to ANC.
5.Mobilized and conducted 4 engagements with 89 VHTs about prevention and management of COVID-19.
HIV/AIDS and Psychosocial Support
We offer HIV/AIDS services that include testing, counseling, ART care and community HIV awareness and support. Since 2019, we have;-
1.Screened and tested 3,221 clients and counseled them.
2.Identified, enrolled and treated 427 ART clients.
3.Mobilized and conducted 8 community HIV/AIDS testing and counseling sessions.
4.Mobilized and helped PLHAs form 4 support groups.
5.Have referred 21 HIV/AIDS clients to NGOs and other health facilities for specialized services.
6.Distributed 187 mosquito nets to HIV/AIDS clients (both HIV/AIDS clients that are accessing services at our facility and those from the communities).
Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)
Our WASH programs target communities, institutions (school, markets and health facilities) and homes. We have successful done the following;-
1.Constructed 2 boreholes (one in a town – trading center and one in the village).
2.Successfully linked 5 schools to NGOs that gave them water tanks.
3.Helped 18 communities to form water source protection committee and trained them in supervision and maintenance of water sources.
4.Mobilized and conducted 29 capacity building engagements with local leaders about monitoring domestic hygiene.
Socioeconomic and Livelihoods Programs
Among our socioeconomic and livelihood programs we identify and support individuals, families and groups in order to advance their economic status and build their potentials to live a better and sustainable life. We have been able to;-
1.Trained 28 youth in welding, whereby 12 of them got startup capital (welding equipment, overalls and safety glasses and gumboots). .
2.Trained and successfully released 25 youth in videography and photography. Out of these, a total of 14 got startup capital.
3.Provided startup capital (a package of essential equipment and cash) to 6 youth groups in carpentry and wood joinery.
4.Trained and successfully released 22 female out of school youth in tailoring. Out of these, a total of 10 female youth that performed exceptionally well got startup capital.
5.Constructed 2 pigpens (sties) for two women groups.
